Firearm Homicide-Suicide Events in Southeastern Wisconsin, 1991-1997

This proceeding discusses the trends of homicide-suicide incidence, circumstances, type of relationship, alcohol usage, firearm ownership, & trace information. According to records from multiple sources, homicide-suicide events accounted for 3.8% of firearm deaths in Southeastern Wisconsin, 1991-1997. Of these deaths, 65% were classified as intimate partner violence. All suicide victims were male & 62% of homicide victims were female. 38% of the sample were experiencing relational disruption.
