This paper provides an in-depth exploration of the RUSH (Real Understanding of Self-Help) Program, developed for the management of borderline personality characteristics (includig suicidal ideation & self-harm) in offender populations. Therapeutic obstacles associated with implementing RUSH in a correctional environment are discussed, together with successful strategies to overcome these difficulties. An examination of quantitative & qualitative outcomes suggests that RUSH is a promising offender rehabilitation program. (33 refs)
