This report presents the epidemiology of injury in Alberta from 1999-2000. Suicide is identified as the leading cause of injury-related death in Alberta, 1997. Albertan males are identified as having the highest rate of suicide in Canada from 1989-1992. A summary of organizations involved in injury prevention programs in Alberta (including suicide prevention) is presented. Descriptions of present research projects funded by the organization are provided. (SC)
