Issues of loss & grief have been linked to depression, & traditionally such issues have been under-explored in schools. This document provides an overview of practices related to death & loss within the school, including lessons for junior, middle, & senior secondary school students. The author discusses differing grief reactions based on the mode of death (natural, accidental, suicide or homicide) & suggests different methods of support for each of these. (SC)
