This article describes a study by the U.S. Centers of Disease Control which found that 1 in 14 youths said they attempted suicide in a 12-month period. 29% of 12,000 youths responded in a questionnaire that they had considered suicide, 19% of which formulated a plan. Indicators of risk for suicide are included in the article. (SC)
