This presentation discussed what happens to a family when a member attempts suicide. Theresa Rando’s 6 processes of complicated mourning, the effects of trauma, & post traumatic stress disorder are included. Repercussions within individual relationships, changes in assumptive worlds, & reinvestment of energies are presented in this interpretation. Strategies that help families in these situations are suggested. (SC)
