This editorial presents several similarities between people with post-traumatic stress disorder & people with chronic suicidal behavior. These similarities include feelings of alienation, an inability to experience the joys of life, & a lack of purpose. The author hypothesizes that people who suffer severe suicidal conditions may subsequently develop post-traumatic stress disorder. He then presents several treatment elements for post-traumatic stress disorder that may be beneficial for the treatment of suicidal people. (SC)
