The Mental Health and Well-Being of Ontario Students 1991-2001: Findings From the OSDUS

This report documents the results of the Ontario Student Drug Use Survey, a survey of 4,211 students from grades 7-13 across Ontario. Information was obtained relating to social, physical, & mental health. 11.1% of students had seriously considered attempting suicide in the past 12 months, with significantly more females than males reporting so (13.3% versus 8.9%). The report also profiles some factors related to suicide ideation, including age & parent-child relations. (77 refs)(SC)
