This manuscript presents a five-year local strategy developed by the Ottawa Suicide Prevention Coalition to promote the importance of continued activities needed to prevent death by suicide in the Ottawa area. Strategies for promoting awareness, suicide prevention, intervention & postvention are included. Contributing factors to suicide & information about suicide in Ottawa are cited. (SC)
