Some Aspects of the Dynamics in Suicide Rates and the Relevance for Prevention: a Northern Swedish Study, 1952-1995

The epidemiology of suicide was studied in the country of Basterbotten in norther Sweden to serve as a base for the development of preventive strategies. The suicide data covered the years 1952-1995, & especially converging tendencies, dynamics among risk groups, regional suicide patterns, & suicide methods were examined. Trends in suicide rates over the period are discussed from a preventive point of view. (27 refs)
