Suicidal Thoughts and Depression in a Normal Female Population (IN: Psychopathology of Depression: Proceedings, ed. by K Achte, V Aalberg, & J Lonnqvist)

This study explored the occurrence of suicidal feelings & depression in a health female population. 427 female employees of a Helsinki banking institution completed questionnaires on general health status & mental health symptoms. 12% reported having suicidal thoughts in the last year. Results indicated that such thoughts were significantly connected with depression & with disturbances of mental health. (5 refs) (SC)
