This book provides a history of the experiences of people with mental illness in Alberta. Case studies are used to examine suicide, suicidal ideation, & mental health. The rate of suicide in Alberta, why Albertans kill themselves, & what mental health programs are doing in response are some of the topics discussed. The attitudes & behaviours of mental health workers & the Alberta government to patients with depression or suicidal behaviours are reviewed.
