Best Practices: Concurrent Mental Health and Substance use Disorders

This book is a resource for mental health workers who provide services to people presenting with concurrent mental health & substance use disorders. The purpose of the project was to identify effective treatment options for people with concurrent disorders. Descriptions of specific disorders, criteria for diagnosis, & common comorbid substance abuse issues are included. Clinically proven effective treatment options are presented. Clinical confounders that could affect efficacy, e.g. suicide ideation, are also discussed. (SC)
