Sorscher S M
The author of this article describes the case of a 49-year-old woman to illustrate the effects of the serotonin syndrome. The article describes how a woman who was taking sertraline, encountered suicidal ideation after being injected with cyclophosphamide & doxorubicin. The womanÕs symptoms resolved within hours without pharmacological intervention & when the woman was administered the same medications a few weeks later there were no adverse reactions. The author concludes that variants of the serotonin syndrome can be seen when drugs of these two classes of medication are co-administered. (3 refs.) (AK)
