This manuscript deals with Canada’s treatment of the Innu community. The manuscript examines why their are such high suicide rates among the Innu people, & shows how Canada’s historical record of treating the Innu people badly has contributed to such high suicide rates. The manuscript deals with land claims, claims policy, & environmental impact assessments. The manuscript includes a section of what the Innu want from the government in terms of policy, recognition, & assistance. The manuscript concludes with suggestions that the Canadian government can take as to help the Innu community. (AK)
