The Psychological Analysis of Personality Features Among Young People After a few Suicidal Attempts Analisis psicologico de las caracteristicas de personalidad de los jovenes despues de algunos intentos de suicidio

The aim of this investigation was the analysis of personality features among young people, age 14-18, hospitalized at the Toxicology Center in Lublin, Poland. 45 patients were studied. 82% of the patients had attempted suicide once before & for 18%, this attempt was their third. Personality characteristics associated with these patients were negative self-concept, negative attitudes towards the future, increased aggression, increased need for autonomy, a high need for the support of others, dissatisfaction with interpersonal relationships, & decreased desire to achieve goals. A complex of medical & psychological intervention is needed to help these youths. (4 refs.)
