The Outcome of Self Poisoning Eight Years Later (IN: Suicidal Behaviour in Europe: Recent Research Findings, edited by P Crepet et al)
Kelleher M J~~Keohane B~~et al
The aim of the present work is to follow up all self poisoners from previous studies done by the authors, in a defined catchment area to find out what happens to them. By re-interviewing self poisoners eight years later using a semi-structured clinical interview given by a skilled interviewer, it is hoped to determine what factors are influencing this disruptive form of behaviour which is viewed by the authors as often painful to the individual and invariably wasteful in the use of services.
