The authors measured lumbar cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) levels of 5-HIAA and the dopamine metabolite homovanillic acid (HVA) among 27 depressed patients. The present here the results of a five year follo-up study of suicidal behviour in relationship to CSF levels of 5-HIAA and HVA among these depressed patients. (22 refs)
