Christians must be able to respond to the genuine concerns for suffering & dying well that motivate those who sincerely believe that euthanasia & assisted suicide are morally sound solutions. Christians must respond in 4 ways: 1) to the persons who hold such views, 2) to the reasons they advance for holding them, 3) to the persons actually confronting the facts of suffering & death, & 4) to the debate about public policy & legalization of euthanasia & assisted suicide. This chapter examines these 4 responses in turn.
