Later-life people tend to misrepresent or underrepresent suicidal intent and so remain high-risk candidates for suicide. This case involves an older man who developed suicidal symptoms for the first time in later-life. While there were signs & risk factors present, he showed a positive treatment course of appropriate behaviour. At the psychological autopsy, however, it became evident that other factors should have been considered. (2 refs)
