Cook A S~~Dworkin D S
This chapter is intended to increase therapist competence in assessing cultural issues related to bereavement in a client-therapist relationship. Primary aspects of therapy with reference to cultural issues that may emerge during the course of treatment are presented. The emphasis is on the diversity of responses to loss & the ways in which loss experiences are interpreted & processed within different cultural milieus. Variations in loss responses may be related to regional, generational, socioeconomic, or idiosyncratic factors.
