The purpose of this chapter is to provide a conceptual framework for traumatology in order to design meaningful traumatological training, education, development, & credentialling programs. This framework is expanded by including definitions relating to traumatology, levels of traumatic reaction, & traumatologist expertise associated with the various levels of traumatic reations. Finally, ethical & moral considerations are examined relating to the credentialling & licensing of professional & paraprofessional traumatologists.
