This book was written to provide guidelines for faculty & staff in middle & high schools who have been trained in appropriate use of the materials. The guidelines are divided into eight chapters: 1) a description of national trends in adolescent suicide & causes; 2) an explanation of the components of an individual school or district-wide prevention program; 3 & 4) the content for faculty/staff inservice & the preparation of core or crisis teams; 5) a possible paradigm to organize & deliver guidelines & counselling in the school; 6) elements of parent education sessions; 7) lesson plans for classroom presentations; & 8) legal aspects of suicide prevention in the schools. Most chapters also include overhead masters.
