WHO/EURO Multicentre Study on Parasuicide: Facts and Figures

The WHO/EURO multicentre study on parasuicide began in 1986 & covers two broad areas of research: monitoring of trends in the epidemiology of parasuicide & follow-up investigations in parasuicide populations. 16 centres, representing 13 countries, collaborated in the study. The first part of this report gives a general description of the centre catchment areas. The second part discusses indicators of social conditions, including social instability. The third part of the report is on health & health care. The fourth part reviews suicidal behaviour & the treatment of suicidal people. The report includes the main set of research instruments developed for the study.
