Primary prevention activities of the National Youth Suicide Prevention Strategy (Australia) were concentrated in four areas: parenting education & support; school-based programs; media education; & access to means/injury prevention. The goal of early intervention is to reduce the prevalence of risk factors for suicide among young people who have begun to develop early signs of disturbance or who are exposed to environments known to be harmful. This volume collates what has been learned about early intervention during the course of these projects.
