This article describes a case in the United Kingdom, in which a terminally ill woman petitioned the court to turn off her ventilator. In a rare occurrence the court proceedings took place in her hospital room. The author speculates there is a very good chance that the court will adhere to her wishes for active euthanasia. (SC)
