This purpose of this review is to consider the available research evidence on risk factors & correlates in later-life suicidal behavior & to suggest opportunities for research. The identification & adequate treatement of depression is proposed as the most promising research avenue when preventive interventions in later-life suicide are considered. (134 refs.)
