This study examined the suicidal involvement, disordered eating behaviours, sexual risk taking, delinquent behaviours, substance use, & school performance of male teenagers with a reported history of sexual abuse. With the exception of school performance, this group had higher rates of adverse correlates in these areas than the comparison group without a history of abuse. As hypothesized, male adolescents with a history of sexual abuse had significantly higher involvement in suicidal ideation & behaviour than controls. They also scored higher on overall suicide risk.
