Improvements in the packaging of drugs & hazardous substances may be a useful means of reducing the likelihood of severe toxicity in intentional poisonings. This measure should be considered for agents that are potentially lethal in overdose & for patients who are known to be at higher risk of intentional poisonings. This article considers better or safe packaging of drugs & chemicals as a preventive measure against severe intentional poisonings in adults based on reports from Hong Kong & elsewhere. (37 refs.)
