The Army of Pathology accumulated autopsy records for 656 homicides & 1197 suicides in World War II between the time of Pearl Harbour & the victory over the Japanese in American soldiers. These records were used to compare suicide & homicide similarities & differences in individual & comparative contexts. This study demonstrates that military homicides & suicides tend to conform to certain patterns. However, There are also striking differences between the two. (23 refs.)(CH)
