This case report of a 19-year-old female who had experienced more than a dozen hospitalizations in eighteen months for suicidal thoughts & actions describes the challenges of addressing issues of childhood trauma & integrating psychotherapeutic & environmental interventions when community treatment is interrupted by frequent rehospitalizations. A commentary on the case & the treatment strategies used follows.
