This paper describes an analysis of national suicide data among 17 major immigrant groups in England & Wales during 1979-1983 including trends in suicide among the immigrant groups over the preceding decade. Where possible, comparisons are made with suicide levels in the country of origin. Suicide rates among migrants in England & Wales generally reflect the patterns in their country of origin. The findings do not suggest that migration increases the risk of suicide. (16 refs.)
