This article describes a postvention approach for use in a school setting in the aftermath of a suicide. Procedures discussed are based on research & informed practice as well as the author’s consultation experience with various private & public school systems in Maryland from 1986 to the present. These procedures have been piloted, by the author & others, to assist schools in their postvention efforts. An appendix provides an example of a postvention procedure checklist. (19 refs.)
