Unintentional and Intentional Injury Profile for Aboriginal People in Canada 1990-1999
Health Canada
The purpose of this report is to present information on injury-related mortality & morbidity in Aboriginal people, to show trends, & to compared injury rates & patterns with those of the total Canadian population. Data are presented first for the total Aboriginal population, & then specifically for First Nations. There is no separate section for the Inuit due to scarcity of data. Data includes statistics for motor vehicle accidents, drowning, accidental poisoning, accidental falls, fire/flames, suicide, homicide, assault, & family violence. (31 refs.)
