The authors report the case of a 46-year-old woman admitted to hospital with sustained ventricular tachycardia. 21 years previously the patient had attempted suicide. The wound to the right ventricle was sutured. It was postulated the scar in the right ventricle extending into the septum was the cause of the arrhythmia. An automatic cardioverter defibrillator was implanted.
