This article examines suicide among Australian adolescents. It analyzes the desire of society to keep suicide hidden & the intricate role that the family dynamic plays in this concealment. After articulating possible causative factors for suicide in adolescents, the author discredits several myths about suicide in this age group. 2 case studies are presented to illustrate possible prevention techniques.
