This article reviews the scientific literature related to suicidal behaviour among Latino youth. The conceptualization of culture, & how culture may influence behaviour & psychopathology, particularly suicidal behaviour, is discussed. The available literature that discusses rates of suicidal behaviour, risk, & protective factors among Latino youth is critically reviewed. This literature is then discussed in terms of its implications for prevention. The paper concludes with a discussion of directions for future research. (59 refs.)
