In this chapter, the authors review the pattern of health & disease of Canadian Aboriginal peoples from the end of the Second World War to the early 1990s. During this period, most infectious diseases were increasingly brought under control although they have not been eradicated. An alarming trend has been the new epidemic of unintentional & intentional injuries, including suicide. In addition to reviewing the statistical data, this chapter pays special attention to the methods of obtaining such data.
