A previous study estimated the number of suicides among children of Australian Vietnam veterans was more than 3 times the number expected if these children had experienced suicide rates at the same level as the general Australian community. This report provides an analysis of the suicides of veterans’ children by a range of demographic characteristics captured on death certificates. Patterns of suicide over time as well as the distribution by gender, age at death, birth cohort, suicide methods & geographic distribution within Australia are examined.
