Policy for the Management of Suicide and Suicidal Behaviour

This document outlines the new policy for the Greater Murray Health Service relating to the management of suicide & suicidal behaviour. Contents of the policy include: common guidelines, response to referrals, risk factors & indicators, assessment & management for emergency departments & community mental health teams, general hospital wards, special care of persons under the NSW Mental Health Act, the managment of completed suicides within psychiatric inpatients units & within the community, & the reporting of suicide.
