Manual of Native American Religious Practices in Secure Confinement

The purpose of this manual is to provide basic information & guidance about the religious practices of Native American Indians in secure confinement. The material presented is intended to: 1) enhance the knowledge of both institutional staff & Native inmantes; 2) foster increased understanding & sensitivity; & 3) assist in the establishment of policy & procedures that reasonably accommodate traditional Native practices without jeopardizing order & security. Brief information is provided on crisis counselling, suicide prevention & intervention.
