This article provides a brief description of 7 different cases in which hospitals &/or physicians were sued by patients. One of the cases involved a 26-year-old man who completed suicide after being transferred to the psychiatric unit of a hospital. The hospital settled with the family for an undisclosed amount. The attending psychiatrist was also sued but the jury returned a unanimous verdict in his favour.
