This article examined the ability of high school educators in Western Australia to deal with the issues of a high suicide rate among gay & lesbian adolescents & HIV/AIDS transmission among young gay men between the ages of 14-19. Prevailing Western Australian law appears to prohibit the implementation of education strategies aimed at creating an environment in which issues of sexuality can be openly discussed. (41 refs.)
