This pamphlet was written to help college faculty & staff assist a student with personal problems &/or disruptive behaviour. Three general categories of behaviour which can indicate a student is experiencing emotional distress are outlined. Strategies are offered for assisting the troubled student & making referrals to professional counselling. Other topics which are addressed include: crisis intervention, the overly agitated or enraged student; & disruptive behaviour in the classroom. An extensive list of campus resources & community agencies is provided.
