In this letter to the editor, the authors present the case of a patient who completed suicide after one week of treatment with bright light therapy. The authors agree with the conclusions of a previous report by Praschak-Rieder et al (1997) that suicidal features in seasonal affective disorder patients treated with bright light therapy are rare but not negligible. Further research is recommended. (5 refs.)
