This paper discusses the development & activities of the first community-based suicide prevention group in Australia. The paper outlines the history, objectives, & the work undertaken to date of the Suicide Prevention Task Force. The training package of the Task Force is also examined. This package is used to train health & welfare professionals in the area of suicide prevention. (2 refs.)
