Critical Event Response Protocol

This protocol serves as a guide for those who respond to a critical incident(CI) &/or during a critical event. Examples of a CI are described as: a sudden death in the workplace, a line of duty death, one which involves many casualties, one which attracts significant media attention, and one which is unusual in nature. The protocol’s purpose is to guide a community-based response to these events. Appendices iclude: a glossary of CI terms, examples of critical incidents, media relations, event management report, service referral report, service contract report, and a regional resource list.
