This presentation discussed a youth health model & shared the work undertaken by Mental Health & Youth Health services in New Zealand. Teams have integrated a number of disciplines in attempting, through an improvement of youth health in its many dimensions, to achieve their goal of effective youth suicide prevention. Particular emphasis was given to the significance of integrating seconday care services, primary care providers, & the wider community. The need to develop culturally appropriate services & to include workers from various cultural groups was discussed.
