This presentation discussed the Youth Suicide Prevention & Intervention Project in Port Pirie, South Australia. This project has implemented a number of strategies, targeting young people, age 15-24 years, who are at risk of suicide or who have attempted suicide. The strategies are aligned with public health principles of primary, secondary, & tertiary prevention & intervention, & are underpinned by strong community networks. A overview was provided which emphasized the project’s commitment to public health strategies & to working collaboratively with various professional & community groups.
