Using a case study of a young male struggling with a number of issues, this workshop explored the needs of parents with a suicidal child. An interactive format was used to draw on the experiences of participants & to promote discussion of the many issues around service provision for parents. The role of parent education, as an early intervention measure & a form of support for parents in crisis, was explored. Ways of building hope & resiliency in parents as role models for young people was also considered.
